In short, yes. In a normal situation we would have been able to cover the VAT and duty taxes.
Unfortunately, the malicious actions taken on purpose by a few members of our community have sabotaged our collaboration with our payment processor Stripe.
This led to an unforeseen and complicated situation, which has forced us to accept certain terms and conditions for securing new payment processors.
That has culminated in not being able to cover the VAT and duty taxes, despite the initial statement we made in the beginning of this project.
Once again, we truly understand your disappointment and we share it ourselves, fully. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this has caused for many members of our community.
In the order link/survey that you will receive via email, you will see the total shipping amount, including VAT and duty taxes.
The delivery order will be made depending on how soon you settle the shipping cost to complete your order, from the moment we send out the individual order links to everyone.

The chair comes partly assembled. And we reduced the total time it takes to put it together.

The BeYou chair holds up to 400 lbs or 181 kg on the main seat and the backrest (when used as a seat) was tested to hold up to 275 lbs or 125 kg. As we go through the pre-production optimisation, these limits may vary slightly. Please keep an eye on our regular updates because we'll share all our exciting progress with the entire BeYou community.
For the time being, while the standard fabric colour for the cushions is black, our pre-order community can choose between these 2 colour options for the wooden parts: Natural or Black.

As some of our community members expressed their enthusiasm in having more colours for the chair, our team will compile all the feedback received and see what options we can consider for the future development of the BeYou project.

Items that are bought as part of a crowdfunding / pre-order campaign and/or as part of a clearance sale, cannot be refunded or returned (unless received damaged and an email informing us about the damage, along with photographs showing the damage, is sent through to us no later than 24 hours from the time of pre-order receipt) - their order is final.
However we may, at our sole discretion, agree to credit part of the amount towards another order - please do contact us in advance of returning such items.

My beyou furniture chairs arrived yesterday!! I’m super excited!
My experience: I pre-ordered two chairs a couple years ago, got regular email updates, replies to my questions, shipping to my door and two pretty great chairs. The fabric and look are fine for me. This is a very heavy chair 70 lbs with a very wide 36″ base and moveable arms and backrest. I only wish the whole chair lowered more because my feet don’t touch the floor so I’ll need to use a foot rest for regular chair sitting. Otherwise the chair is nicer than I imagined and the backrest hits me exactly right!
To sit cross legged I need to tilt/recline the backrest back or sit sideways on it both of which are comfortable. I have laptop lift trays and footrests so height wise it’s going to be ok. I love flopping one leg out or under me which this is great for all kinds of flopping around. The new price in their online shop is considerably more than their backer prices so I’m glad I got two at lower cost even including shipping = one for my office and one for my craft room (two separate buildings.)
I had hip replacement surgery last year and being able to move and re-adjust like this is so good for me. There’s 9 comfortable positions for me. I got into 12 different positions but only 9 were really comfortable. I’m about 4’10” and about 190 lbs wearing 16 US women’s sizes with 25″ inseam. I’m round and flexible.
The wheel base is 36″ measured just now and it’s super heavy to move around. I’m trying to remember to tighten my core when rolling it around the room for repositioning lol. It will not fit through my house’s standard interior door ways. Thankfully it will fit through my office doorways because we made those large and accessible for clients in wheelchairs.
So in the end I have zero regrets and hope it lasts forever given what we paid and went through to get them.
The unique adjustability of the chair is impressive
Some parts of the assembly were finicky but I was able to figure out solutions to get them in place properly. The chair overall is sturdy and the cushions are comfortable and retain their shape well so far. The unique adjustability of the chair is impressive. I’ve been finding myself randomly making adjustments to change my sitting position way more often than I expected I would but this chair has been able to rise to the challenge every time.
If you fidget this is the chair for you
If have ADHD like me and fidget a lot and like to sit in weird positions, this is the chair for you! The only thing I would say is that you need to experiment with the different positions to find your best position. Im still looking to find mine, cos I have 2 I cant chose between at the moment. And I do wish the fabcri was more plush and silky!

Im a huge game of thrones fan and since im working from home exclusively these days, with this chair, I can say I found my Iron Throne
Extremely easy to readjust into different positions
Love this chair! The chair was easy to put together, even though I didn’t find the assembly instructions until after I had finished (they are on the back of a poster and I only looked at one side before totally ignoring it). The backrest functions were a little stuck initially, but after fiddling around with them they started working with no issue. The padding is very comfortable, the fabric is fine if a little on the rough side – no worse than any other desk chair I’ve ever sat in.
After waiting for three years since backing this thing on Kickstarter, I think it was worth the wait. It’s extremely easy to readjust into different positions. I have used it as a kneeling chair and a lounge chair so far.
The base is very wide, which I think is to be expected. The fact that it’s designed to have you sit on the back, the wide base seems necessary for safety purposes.
It is very heavy.
This might be my favorite piece of furniture I’ve ever owned.
